Live jazz for Telluride weddings & events

A local band, a short drive down the valley.

Jazz for the mountains, from just down the road

Standard Alchemy is a cocktail jazz band based in Montrose, a short drive from Telluride and Mountain Village. We play weddings, rehearsal dinners, private parties at rental homes, and corporate retreats in the San Juans.

Hiring a band from the region means no flights to cover and no unfamiliar mountain roads for your musicians. We know the drive, the altitude and the weather.

What we play

Swing, bossa nova and Great American Songbook standards, played at a level that suits a ceremony on a mountainside, a cocktail hour on a deck, or dinner in a lodge. A few favorites:

  • Fly Me to the Moon
  • The Way You Look Tonight
  • All of Me
  • Moon River
  • The Girl from Ipanema
  • Cheek to Cheek
  • What a Wonderful World
  • Misty
  • Autumn Leaves
  • Days of Wine and Roses
  • Blue Bossa
  • Route 66

Sized to your event

  • Jazz duo — trumpet and guitar. Small footprint, easy on the room, ideal for ceremonies, dinners and wine bars.
  • Jazz trio — add bass for a fuller sound at a reception or a larger party.
  • Jazz quartet — trumpet, guitar, bass and drums when you want the room to swing.
  • Vocals — instrumental, or with male and/or female vocals, including guest vocalist Polly Kroger.

Hear us on your way

We play every Sunday, 4–7 PM, at Chloe’s Charcuterie & Wine in Ridgway, right on the road between Montrose and Telluride. Planning a wedding? Stop in and hear the band first.
